Why not join us as a volunteer?

Without our incredible team of volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to deliver the incredible life-changing opportunities that we do every single week.

As a volunteer you’ll receive expert training to do your role to the bets of your ability, and try new experienced you might have never done before. It does’t matter if you can give an hour a month, or a couple hours a week.

Whether you are a fire-lighting wizard; a mountain veteran; or if you’ve never stepped foot on a campsite before, we would love to hear from you and see how you can help volunteer today!

About Us

At the 3rd we have over one hundred young people enjoying the fun and adventure that Scouting brings; supported by a dedicated group of adult volunteers and young leaders that are committed to giving the young people skills for life.

Our sections meet weekly in our purpose-built group headquarters located at Brook Road, Southampton. The hall is also a great venue for private hire.

Youth shaped

We listen to the views and opinions of our young people to ensure that activities incorporate their ideas, interests and beliefs. The section programmes are carefully designed to be challenging, enjoyable and relevant for all young people in our group.

Recognising achievement

Each activity we do contributes to awards that we proudly wear as badges on our uniform. There are top awards in each section, for those who achieve all the badges and go above and beyond.

Active in the community

As Scouts we aim to make the world a better place through making impact in our communities. In our programmes we complete litter picks, church cleanups and wildlife planting. Alongside this we regularly bring in visitors from organisations who help different groups of people within communities in order to educate the young people around challenges within society and inspire them to do good in the world. In the past we have had visits from the emergency services, the Lord Mayor and The Guide Dog Association.
